Description: Did you know that there is a growing anti-feminism movement in Korea? The proponents of anti-feminism, who are mostly young Korean men, advocate for South Korean men’s rights as a direct response to what they perceive to be a radicalization of feminism in Korea, but some of them appear to be willing to take a more radical approach to raising awareness. One of the most prominent anti-feminist and men’s rights activist in Korea showed up at a feminist rally in a Joker costume with a water gun, and received a lot of media attention for supposedly terrorizing the group of feminists. Why did he do this? To get his side of the story and his perspective on the so-called gender war in Korea, we reached out to the “Joker” himself for an interview and he accepted. To get the other side of the story, we also reached out to several prominent feminist organizations for an interview or even for a debate at the request of the Joker, but they either did not hear back or had to pull out last minute. We’re still holding out hope that some of them will eventually come forward to talk with us.
